The Mental Health Association is seeking a Lived Experience Community Resource Navigator to join our team at the Community Wellness Center (Mental Health) in Morris County.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual to provide culturally competent services to individuals in a welcoming and stigma-free environment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the mental health system and be able to provide support and guidance to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strengths-based, person-centered services to individuals in a collaborative and caring relationship.
  • Partner with community providers to ensure seamless access to services and resources.
  • Coordinate resource events and activities at the CWC to promote wellness and recovery.
  • Educate staff on available community resources and provide ongoing support and guidance.
  • Share lived experience while providing support and guidance to individuals in need.
  • Provide case management and linkage to community supports to promote independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Assist with managing crises and de-escalation situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Promote the integration of physical and mental health wellness and provide support to individuals in achieving their goals.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus related life experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to SAMHSA's core competencies for peer workers in behavioral health services.
  • The ability to engage with individuals and provide support and guidance in a collaborative and caring relationship.
  • The ability to network with community providers and resources to ensure seamless access to services.
