Job Title: Human Resources Specialist

Role: HR Specialist (Temp to Hire)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days onsite in Parsippany, NJ

Duration: 6-month contract to hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer all employee benefits programs, including retirement plans, health insurance, disability programs, and more.
  • Serve as a liaison to Payroll/Finance for resolving open items, system issues, and benefits/deduction processing.
  • Process invoices for benefits and HR technology vendors in a timely manner.
  • Review and analyze changes to state and federal laws related to benefits; coordinate company benefits with government-sponsored programs.
  • Lead open enrollment processes, drive plan participation, and enhance employee engagement.
  • Work with brokers and vendors to resolve benefits inquiries, perform nondiscrimination testing, process Form 5500s, and manage all related communications.
  • Ensure compliance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and other applicable laws.
  • Prepare and file reports and applications required by federal and state agencies (e.g., IRS, DOL).
  • Reconcile 401(k) contributions with payroll and coordinate with Accounting/Finance.
  • Act as the HRIS/HCM system administrator and manage data feeds with vendors.
  • Develop and maintain an effective report library and provide ad hoc reporting as needed.
  • Track employee leaves and requests for accommodations.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of experience in HR Benefits Administration.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), particularly Excel (VLOOKUPs, INDEX, MATCH, formulas, Pivot Tables, etc.).
  • Experience with SaaS-based payroll or HCM systems (Ceridian/Dayforce preferred).
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, ERISA, and other applicable laws and regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
  • Certification by SHRM (CP) or HRCI (PHR) is a plus.

Experience in customer and employee relations.
