Position Title: Lead Technical Architect

Department: University IT (UIT), Stanford University

Overview:

The Lead Technical Architect will play a pivotal role in capturing and modeling business requirements while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of effective solutions. This position involves managing significant projects and serving as a guiding force to ensure that deliverables align with organizational standards and service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify suitable technical solutions.
  • Engage with both internal and external teams to establish best practices for implementation, documentation, and billing processes.
  • Lead a team of systems analysts, providing mentorship and direction.
  • Oversee project scheduling, task assignments, and work reviews throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
  • Prepare and present status reports to management.
  • Work collaboratively with outsourcing partners as needed.
  • Coordinate with peer managers to address enterprise-wide integration needs.
  • Manage the analysis, design, development, and implementation of new systems and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Facilitate provisioning support and deliver SLA metrics to stakeholders.
  • Oversee internal and end-user acceptance testing processes.
  • Contribute to staff development initiatives to cultivate a skilled technical team.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for IT Infrastructure Escalation Response.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree along with ten years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage work assignments, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Expertise in functional analysis, requirements documentation, and business process improvement.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco VOIP solutions and Avaya Telephony platforms.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles.
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, ServiceNow, and Smartsheet.

Certifications:

  • Cisco VOIP certifications are advantageous.

Physical and Working Conditions:

  • Ability to perform desk-based tasks and engage in occasional physical activities.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and be available for urgent issues.
