Job Title: Account Manager

Key Responsibilities

The individual in this role will be tasked with identifying new business opportunities, delivering product services and information to clients, nurturing existing client relationships, creating sales presentations, and ensuring follow-through on all client interactions. Additional responsibilities include managing client pricing and payments, accounts receivable oversight, client communication, quality assurance support, and participation in industry and trade events.

Account Manager duties will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Aligning with EMCOR's established sales philosophy, processes, and procedures.
  • Researching and pursuing potential clients and projects through various outreach methods, including direct contact with Chief Engineers, Property Managers, and Asset Managers.
  • Engaging in phone outreach, site visits, attending conferences, utilizing online resources, and leveraging existing relationships.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with prospective clients.
  • Collaborating with the Sales Manager and Branch Manager, along with team members, to enhance account programs and processes to achieve targeted goals.
  • Utilizing analytical and solution-oriented approaches to maximize sales growth, volume, and profitability for account clients.
  • Preparing and delivering impactful client presentations.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing client proposal documents, including financial and technical components, using standardized templates and pricing models.
  • Driving sales at defined margin levels to capture market share.
  • Communicating effectively with various departments within EMCOR, including Operations, project management, and sales teams.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to personal growth and development through participation in training events and professional development opportunities.
  • Achieving established annual sales objectives.

Compensation:

  • An annual draw is established for each account manager, distributed in equal weekly payments.
  • Account managers receive annual sales plans for non-maintenance, maintenance, and automation/control services, with expectations to meet or exceed these plans.
  • The sales plans are designed to cover the cost of the account manager's employment, and meeting these plans is a condition of continued employment.
  • Compensation details are outlined in EMCOR's sales compensation plan.

Job Specifications (including education requirements, experience, and skills):

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HVAC commercial service or a related sector.
  • Relevant technical experience, ideally in Facilities Management or Operations and Maintenance.
  • Strong customer presentation skills, sales aptitude, and financial acumen, particularly in cost modeling for proposals.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Competitive nature with strong communication skills.
  • Goal-oriented, ambitious, and energetic candidates are preferred.
