Executive Chef Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to join the culinary team at Knott's Berry Farm as a Sous Chef. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will assist the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in the daily activities of the Central Kitchen. Your primary responsibilities will include overseeing production and presentation of goods for the park, assisting with par levels, and ensuring quality product.
Responsibilities
• Assist with daily operation of the Central Kitchen and packaging room production under the direction of the Executive Chefs.
• Create production lists based on need and delegate tasks to other members of the culinary team.
• Ensure all requisitions are completed in time for delivery to the park, Hotel, Marketplace, and Catering events.
• Alert Executive Chefs and/or other management of any concerns regarding product shortages, staffing, or safety and sanitation.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2-4 years related culinary experience necessary.
• California Food Handler's Card required.
• College or culinary training, or extensive cooking and production experience preferred.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
The estimated salary for this position is $67,000 - $73,000 per year, depending on prior experience.
