Job Title: Account Executive

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Account Executive to join our sales team in the Chicagoland office. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a qualified client base, providing in-depth analysis of client needs, submitting estimates, and obtaining orders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and expand a qualified client base through various marketing practices, including entertainment, direct mail, referrals, advertising, trade shows, cold calls, and other promotional activities.
  • Solicit and establish customer needs, negotiate price and terms within company policy, and take and submit orders for services.
  • Develop expertise and knowledge of estimating, prepare estimates for managing purposes, and consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to assist in the preparation of time, cost, materials, and labor estimates for all phases of projects.
  • Consult with and respond to inquiries from customers and subcontractors regarding areas of expertise, respond to customer concerns in a timely manner, and oversee, monitor, and audit assigned job sites for quality control.
  • Confers with Project Managers and VP as needed to clarify information required for contract plan review, participates in training assigned sales staff, and participates actively in professional and trade organizations.
  • Develops, submits, implements, manages, and reports on sales goals and business development plans in accordance with company policies and systems, maintains product knowledge of existing and new product services, and gathers and forwards information on competitor activities.
  • Assists in collections from delinquent accounts, maintains close, positive working relationships with field and administrative departments, and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Construction Management.
  • A minimum of five years in direct sales, not telemarketing or inside sales.
  • Understanding of reading and estimating from blueprints, knowledgeable in and proven abilities with estimating in a paving, landscaping, or construction type environment, excellent math and geometry skills, and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Only 5-7 years sales experience in a construction environment or to the facilities/operations market is preferred, as salary is commensurate with this level of experience.
