Position: Academic College Consultant/Coach

Location Options: Various locations available

Role Overview:

The Academic College Consultant/Coach is tasked with advising and mentoring students throughout their middle and high school journey. This role involves close collaboration with students to ensure they are well-equipped for college applications, utilizing a structured curriculum and data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Coaching and Advising:

  • Assist students in navigating academic planning and the college admissions process, including various application platforms.
  • Conduct personalized one-on-one sessions to evaluate academic progress and provide tailored guidance.
  • Help students develop essential skills such as time management, effective study habits, and the establishment of academic and career objectives.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars (both in-person and remote) focused on academic and college planning for students and their families.

Curriculum Implementation:

  • Employ the structured curriculum provided by StrivePath to ensure consistent and effective coaching.
  • Align all coaching activities with the curriculum and utilize data assets to monitor student progress.

Admissions Expertise:

  • Remain informed about the latest trends and changes in the college admissions landscape.
  • Offer insights and strategies to enhance college application success for students and parents.

Collaboration and Documentation:

  • Work collaboratively with fellow consultants and staff to share insights and strategies.
  • Document findings and strategies to contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the curriculum and coaching methodologies.

Face-to-Face Interactions:

  • Engage with students in person to foster strong relationships and provide customized support.

Qualifications:

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field (Master's preferred). Certification in college planning and membership in relevant associations is preferred.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in college admissions consulting or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of various college application processes.

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and a process-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and a demonstrated curiosity.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and educational software is advantageous.
