Position: Academic College Consultant/Coach

Location: Flexible based on consultant's location

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: Competitive package including base salary, commission, equity, and benefits

Role Overview:

The Academic College Consultant/Coach will play a pivotal role in advising and mentoring students throughout their middle and high school years. This position requires close collaboration with students to ensure they are adequately prepared for college applications, utilizing a structured curriculum and data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Coaching and Advising:

  • Assist students in navigating academic planning and the college admissions process, including various application platforms.
  • Conduct personalized one-on-one sessions to evaluate academic progress and offer tailored advice, primarily in person.
  • Support students in developing essential skills such as time management, effective study habits, and goal setting.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars (both in-person and remote) focused on academic and college planning for students and their families.

Curriculum Implementation:

  • Employ the structured curriculum provided by StrivePath to ensure consistent and effective coaching.
  • Align all coaching activities with the curriculum and utilize data to monitor student progress.

Admissions Expertise:

  • Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in the college admissions landscape.
  • Offer insights and strategies to enhance the success of college applications for students and parents.

Collaboration and Documentation:

  • Work in partnership with other consultants and staff to share insights and effective strategies.
  • Document findings and strategies to contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the curriculum and coaching methodologies.

Face-to-Face Interactions:

  • Engage with students in person to foster strong relationships and provide customized support.

Qualifications:

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field (Master's preferred). Certification in college planning and membership in relevant associations is preferred.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in college admissions consulting or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of various college application processes.

Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and a process-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Exhibited curiosity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with data analysis tools and educational software is advantageous.
