Job Overview

ATCS is in search of a talented and seasoned CAD Manager to become a vital part of our organization. This role offers the flexibility of remote work, although being local to an ATCS office is advantageous.

As a CAD Manager, your primary focus will be to oversee the design and drafting workflows, ensuring precision and productivity in all CAD-related tasks. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver first-level support for departmental software applications, networked client systems, and procedures, including printer support and hardware setup.
  • Identify and resolve client issues related to office automation equipment, computer hardware, and software.
  • Establish and uphold CAD standards and best practices throughout the organization.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the competencies of the CAD team and designers.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in CAD software and suggest upgrades or new tools as necessary.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to CAD software or hardware.
  • Develop tools, MDL applications, and workflows to streamline repetitive tasks.
  • Oversee the drafting process from initial concept to final completion, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to create detailed drawings and models.
  • Review and approve CAD drawings for accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
  • Work closely with IT to address local and project-level challenges concerning CAD deliverables and technology requirements.
  • Coordinate directly with software vendors for troubleshooting and licensing issues.
  • Collaborate with internal design production teams to initiate, produce, and deliver projects.
  • Maintain an understanding of design development, construction documents, and technical engineering knowledge.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Associate or technical school degree, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as a CAD Manager or in a comparable role.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of substantial experience in technical support for design applications.
  • Familiarity with principles of Workspaces and pen tables.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering design principles and drafting techniques.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in office productivity software (MS Office).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge of DoT CAD standards.
  • Background working with transportation agencies.
  • Familiarity with 3D animation software.
  • Surveying experience.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as C++ and/or C#, Python, BIM, Civil 3D.
