Position Overview

The IT Support Associate plays a vital role as the first point of contact for incoming requests directed to the internal service desk. This position is essential for ensuring prompt, courteous, and effective resolution of end-user challenges. The IT Support Associate undertakes a variety of responsibilities, including troubleshooting, problem-solving, hardware and software assistance, user account management, and more. This role is crucial in sustaining a seamless IT ecosystem for staff, enhancing communication efficiency, and delivering technical solutions to users with limited technical knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the initial support contact for incoming service desk requests, ensuring courteous and timely resolution of user issues.
  • Facilitate problem resolution by reassigning or escalating complex inquiries to the appropriate technician or team member.
  • Prioritize incidents and service requests based on established processes to meet defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Utilize remote support tools and diagnostic utilities to assist in resolving issues for remote personnel.
  • Perform hands-on repairs at the desktop level when remote assistance is not feasible, including hardware repairs and delivery of peripherals.
  • Install and configure hardware and software components across various infrastructure devices.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and support within O365.
  • Support and maintain Windows operating systems and applications.
  • Assist in the setup and troubleshooting of mobile devices in accordance with company policies.
  • Work effectively in a hybrid cloud and on-premises environment.
  • Identify and recommend potential improvements to existing procedures.
  • Carry out additional related duties as assigned.
  • Be available for occasional nights or weekends, particularly during peak periods.
Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of an Associate degree in a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to articulate technical issues and propose solutions to non-technical users.
  • Familiarity with Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
  • Experience with iPhone and Android operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as DNS and DHCP.
  • Preferred experience with Azure Active Directory.
  • Preferred experience in administering SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and various O365 applications.
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities with a focus on prioritizing tasks.
