Position OverviewThe Senior Desktop Support Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting our core business processes, optimizing existing systems, and fostering innovation.
This position is responsible for managing IT operations and security, ongoing system maintenance, troubleshooting, and overseeing project management and related functions to ensure consistent network reliability and technology performance.
This role collaborates with senior leaders and employees at all levels to manage current IT systems/programs and promote continuous technological advancement.
Key Responsibilities- Configure, maintain, and support corporate network infrastructure.
- Assist in the development of IT policies and best practices for the organization.
- Recommend, implement, and monitor security measures to protect data, devices, and networks.
- Conduct regular system audits and checks on network and data security.
- Support the planning and implementation of key initiatives, including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages.
- Document common issues, causes, and solutions, as well as policies & procedures; create user and web-based guides and FAQs.
- Lead project management efforts, including planning, organizing, and managing overseas SLA teams to monitor progress and ensure accurate, timely, and budget-compliant execution of deliverables.
- Address all IT needs for both in-office and remote employees, ensuring timely resolution of technology issues.
- Collaborate closely with the senior leadership team to prioritize technology needs across the organization.
- Oversee technology onboarding (conduct 1:1 sessions with new hires) and manage employee offboarding.
- Administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
- Maintain an inventory of all technology assets.
- Manage e-waste and ensure the safe disposal of technological items.
- Research and explore IT best practices and emerging technologies; provide recommendations for opportunities to enhance and update software, systems, and processes.
- Develop strong relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, including senior leaders and employees at all levels.
- Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in information technology.
- Proficient in corporate infrastructure technologies and security best practices.
- Experience with enterprise IT solutions, network administration, server maintenance, vendor selection, and hardware/software management and support.
- Strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, and a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
- Ability to manage time and schedules to meet aggressive deadlines and influence through persuasive written and verbal communication.
- Project management and time management/prioritization skills in an agile environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to present complex technical concepts in a simplified manner to non-technical audiences.
