Perioperative Services
Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the management functions related to planning, organizing, staffing, budgeting, and directing surgical services and procedural areas. The goal is to ensure that high-quality patient care is delivered in alignment with the organization's mission and objectives.
Accountability:
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Patient Care Services.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts.
- A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in perioperative nursing and at least two years in a management role.
- Evidence of ongoing education in operating room nursing, management skills, and participation in mandatory educational programs.

- Develops departmental goals and objectives annually and reviews them with relevant stakeholders.
Communication:
- Utilizes effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
- Conducts regular staff meetings and keeps leadership informed of departmental activities.
Personnel Management:
- Facilitates professional development for department personnel and mentors direct reports.
- Oversees hiring, scheduling, and evaluation of staff.
Professionalism:
- Takes responsibility for personal professional development and engages in activities that contribute to self and organizational growth.
