Position Summary

As a Lead Thermal Systems Engineer focusing on Chiller Systems at Carrier, you will play a vital role within our dynamic engineering team, concentrating on the development of advanced cooling solutions tailored for data center clients. In this position, you will utilize your thermal systems expertise to design, analyze, and enhance chiller systems for optimal efficiency, reliability, and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our chiller products not only meet but exceed customer expectations while complying with industry standards and regulations.

The Lead Thermal Systems Engineer will work onsite in a collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design and development of chiller systems, including component selection, system integration, and performance enhancement.
  • Perform thermal analysis and simulations to assess system performance across various operating conditions and environments.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including product management, engineering, and manufacturing teams, to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Support product testing and validation efforts, analyze test outcomes, and implement design enhancements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in thermal systems engineering, applying knowledge to drive innovation and maintain Carrier's competitive advantage.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience in thermal systems design.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or thermal engineering with a specialization in chiller systems.
  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience in thermodynamics (cycle analysis and modeling), fluid dynamics, heat transfer principles, and refrigeration cycles.
  • Familiarity with product development processes, from concept design to production release.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results within deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Able to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • A collaborative team player with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
