Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our esteemed Orthopaedics & Rheumatology practice. This role is essential in providing exceptional support to our healthcare team and ensuring a smooth patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient care tasks, both directly and indirectly.
  • Facilitate patient admissions to examination areas.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, including medications, progress notes, lab results, vital signs, and medical histories.
  • Identify and document the primary reason for patient visits.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians as required.
  • Manage communications from physicians and physician assistants.
  • Prepare necessary instruments for procedures such as injections and aspirations.
  • Ensure examination rooms are clean and well-stocked.
  • Assist with prior authorization processes.
  • Handle incoming calls and return patient inquiries as necessary.

Core Competencies:

  • Exhibit professionalism and courtesy towards patients, visitors, colleagues, and healthcare providers.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team member on all tasks.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently while coordinating with other staff members.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Medical Assistant; certification is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA standards and practices.
  • Proficient in computer usage and software applications.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of insurance benefit plans is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
