Job Overview

The Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM) Institute is in search of a Technology Programs Manager who will be accountable for managing technical sub-award projects for our consortium members. If you possess experience collaborating with the Department of Defense and have a strong interest in advanced manufacturing and robotics, this role is tailored for you.

As a federally funded national institute, the ARM Institute aims to enhance the development and implementation of cutting-edge robotics technologies that serve as the backbone of advanced manufacturing activities today and in the future. Reporting directly to the Director of Technology Initiatives, your contributions will be vital to our achievements.

The Technology Programs Manager guarantees that project deliverables and outcomes are achieved within the stipulated timelines and budgets, assesses project performance across technical and logistical aspects, and formulates contingency plans when challenges arise.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee technical projects to ensure adherence to scope, quality, timelines, and budget as specified in their respective sub-awards.
  • Coordinate project resources and activities while tracking progress against deliverables.
  • Manage development and verification-validation-qualification programs to ensure project execution aligns with contractual obligations.
  • Continuously monitor and project budgets, deliverables, and evaluate project outcomes.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of planning, scheduling, and budget & risk management for projects.
  • Assess and report on project performance in both technical and logistical dimensions.
  • Serve as the primary communication link for sub-awardees, providing management support and engaging project investigators to devise mitigation strategies when necessary.
  • Establish and refine best practices, processes, and policies related to projects to ensure alignment with ARM's strategic objectives, in collaboration with leadership.
  • Support compliance across all facets of program contracts and sub-awarded projects, including financials, deliverables, and milestones.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in engineering, physical sciences, or a related field is required; a Master's Degree is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for preferred education.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design, integration, or testing within a development or manufacturing program is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of project management experience is desired. Certification as PMP, PMI, or equivalent is preferred.
