We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investment Officer to join our team at the Washington State Investment Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing selection, due diligence, and monitoring of individual tangible asset investments, ensuring consistency with the State of Washington's statutes, regulations, and Board policies.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Senior Investment Officer - Tangible Assets in prudently deploying the allocation the Board has established for Tangible Assets and implementing the annual plans and objectives for the unit with the intent to create a well-diversified and well-performing risk-adjusted portfolio.
- Assist the Senior Investment Officer in the creation of innovative investment programs in areas often overlooked by traditional capital providers, mentor and assist with the skill-set development of less experienced team members, and perform all initial research and due diligence necessary to educate staff and the Board relative to non-traditional tangible assets investments.
- Monitor current investments, reviewing partners' financial statements, and analyzing the results for acceptability, as well as identifying and reporting any potential problems or opportunities.
- Review potential investments for possible inclusion in the Tangible Assets portfolio; conduct robust due diligence efforts including general investment overview, document review, financial structure analysis, meetings with management, and the preparation/presentation of findings and conclusions to the appropriate investment committee following approval by the Senior Investment Officer.
- Requires a Master's or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, and two years of experience as an Associate, Investment Associate or related role.
- In the alternative, the employer will accept a Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, and five years of experience as an Associate, Investment Associate, or related role.
- Deal sourcing, underwriting, and execution for related investment opportunities;
- Actively sourcing primary, co-investment and secondary opportunities;
- Ensuring the investment due diligence process including manager meetings, quantitative analysis, on-site / asset visits, deal structuring, reference calls, legal review and operational due diligence;
- Monitoring current investments, reviewing clients' financial statements, and analyzing the results for acceptability, as well as identifying and reporting any potential problems or opportunities;
- Performing due diligence for investment opportunities, evaluating risk, and staying abreast on investment options.

$236,784 - $280,344/Year
