We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at the Columbia Generating Station in Richland, Washington. As a Field Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for acting as the primary in-person contact and liaison for Black & Veatch at the plant, communicating with the home office engineering team to identify and resolve engineering-related issues in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience as a field engineer and/or engineering design experience on Nuclear Power Plants. They will possess intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline.
Responsibilities will include:
- Acting as primary in-person contact / liaison for Black & Veatch at the plant and communicating with the home office engineering team to identify and resolve all engineering related issues in a timely manner.
- Taking necessary actions to maintain project schedule targets and develop a stable working relationship with client personnel including project management, design engineering, system engineering, and administration.
- Supporting continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
- Developing and enhancing skills in an on-site, hands-on environment.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program and a minimum of 3 years related work experience. The ideal candidate will be able to meet the physical demands associated with working in a field engineer role, including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, and walking long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas.
