Job Overview

We are looking for a motivated, reliable, and customer-focused Front Desk Agent to become a part of our team at Monarch Hotel. The ideal candidate should possess flexible availability, including the ability to work weekends and holidays, and should maintain a positive demeanor at all times.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing exceptional sales and customer service related to guest check-ins, reservations, and revenue management. This role ensures that guests experience a safe and welcoming environment, supported by friendly and attentive service. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as shifts will vary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide courteous service and promptly address guest inquiries, complaints, or requests.
  • Assist in restocking our Grab n Go area.
  • Organize daily reservations, checking for duplicates and special requests, and pre-blocking rooms as needed.
  • Perform front desk functions including check-ins, checkouts, and handling reservations and phone calls.
  • Process guest check-ins in accordance with credit policies.
  • Resolve guest issues efficiently and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
  • Understand and utilize the property management system effectively.
  • Offer information about hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
  • Support staff during property events to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain guest confidentiality and security.
  • Be familiar with property security protocols and fire safety procedures.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Handle all reservation requests in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for front desk operations, including registration cards and cash reports.
  • Provide efficient switchboard services, including managing messages and wake-up calls.
  • Account for all receipts and manage cash drawer balances.
  • Perform front office posting and filing as directed.
  • Keep the front office area clean and organized.
  • Communicate effectively with housekeeping regarding room status and guest needs.
  • Engage frequently with hotel guests and staff, and occasionally with vendors.
  • Contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on service excellence.
  • Be prepared to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Be able to stand for extended periods.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in hotel front desk operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit or stand for long durations and occasionally lift boxes weighing 25-30 pounds.
