Position Overview

The Vice President of Credit Administration is tasked with the critical role of assessing and determining the approval or denial of credit applications for designated commercial lending sectors, which encompass Commercial Real Estate (CRE), Commercial and Industrial (C&I), and Agricultural lending. This role includes the ongoing evaluation of the credit quality within the assigned portfolio to ensure compliance with established risk parameters, adherence to regulatory standards, and alignment with the Bank's credit policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of credit applications to determine creditworthiness, including analysis of loan quality, risk classification, structure, collateral evaluation, pricing, and compliance with Bank policies. Approve or reject credit applications within designated authority and escalate decisions exceeding this authority as necessary.
  • Review and analyze the completeness and effectiveness of existing credit policies and procedures. Propose modifications to Credit Policies for management or board approval and oversee the implementation of these changes to ensure adherence to updated procedures.
  • Regularly assess the loan portfolio reports with assigned teams to monitor appropriate loan classifications and risk trends. Maintain oversight of loan quality and exposures, raising any concerns with Loan Officers and providing guidance for corrective actions.
  • Engage in the evaluation of adversely classified credits or relationships, recommending or approving action plans within delegated authority to address temporary financial distress. Collaborate with Loan Officers to explore alternatives for resolving problematic loans, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in documentation.
  • Participate in Loan Review and Compliance exit reviews, ensuring that corrective measures are implemented to address exceptions and prevent recurrence. Monitor relevant reports for assigned teams to track delinquencies, accrual exceptions, and overdrafts.
  • Support compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, ensuring consistent execution of operational and credit procedures.
  • Adhere strictly to all risk management, operational, and credit policies, as well as regulatory requirements (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Know Your Customer, Community Reinvestment Act, Fair Lending Practices).

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial credit decision-making and portfolio management is required.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, gather relevant data, and draw informed conclusions.
  • Familiarity with Abrigo, FISERV, or similar systems is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with experience in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Salary Range: $160K -- $195K/year
