Job Overview

Position Summary

The Vice President of Special Assets will operate under the guidance of the Senior Vice President/Special Assets Manager. This role is pivotal in the reorganization of distressed borrower relationships and managing adversely rated loans within the Bank's lending portfolio. The officer will ensure adherence to all relevant state and federal regulations, as well as the Bank's lending policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of classified loans to mitigate delinquency and reduce charge-offs.
  • Deliver timely and high-quality analysis and reporting as required.
  • Engage with clients facing loan difficulties to assess the situation and propose strategies to enhance repayment prospects and minimize loss risks.
  • Negotiate repayment arrangements with borrowers or their representatives, ensuring compliance with agreed terms.
  • Efficiently manage and liquidate repossessed assets.
  • Ensure accurate risk ratings, accrual statuses, and loan loss provisions for the assigned portfolio.
  • Recommend charge-offs in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President/Special Assets Manager on bankruptcy and foreclosure processes, including liaising with legal counsel.
  • Provide insights and guidance to lending staff regarding early identification and evaluation of deteriorating loan situations to minimize losses and maximize recoveries.

Educational Background

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Some college education is necessary; a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in Special Assets within commercial and/or consumer lending is essential.
  • Proficiency in critical thinking, data collection, and analytical conclusion drawing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, along with experience in Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
