This position requires strict adherence to all relevant state and federal regulations, as well as the bank's internal lending policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of criticized and classified loans to mitigate delinquency and minimize charge-offs.
  • Deliver timely and high-quality analysis and reporting as required by the department.
  • Engage with clients facing financial difficulties to assess their situations and formulate strategies to enhance repayment prospects.
  • Negotiate repayment agreements with borrowers or their representatives, ensuring compliance with the terms established.
  • Efficiently manage and liquidate repossessed assets.
  • Ensure accurate risk ratings, accrual statuses, and loan loss provisions for the assigned portfolio.
  • Recommend charge-offs in a timely manner to reflect the true risk of the assets.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Vice President/Special Assets Manager on bankruptcy and foreclosure processes, including liaising with legal counsel.
  • Provide expert guidance to lending staff on identifying and managing deteriorating loan situations to minimize losses.

Qualifications:

  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are essential.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Innovation: A creative approach to addressing work challenges is highly valued.
  • Compliance: A thorough understanding of banking regulations and policies is necessary.
  • Education: A minimum of some college education is required, with a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of direct experience in Special Assets within commercial or consumer lending is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint are required.
