Job Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to serve as the Vice President of Student Services. This key leadership position plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our students and the overall mission of the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Direction: Provide strategic leadership and direction to all Student Services programs, including planning, budgeting, and oversight.
  • Student Services Administration: Serve as the general administrator of Student Services functions, including counseling, matriculation, articulation, financial aid, and other student support services.
  • Institutional Redesign: Collaborate with institutional research, instructional leaders, and others to foster innovation and improve student outcomes through empirically sound decision making.
  • Accountability and Compliance: Ensure accountability of student services categorical programs and compliance with federal and state laws, district and college policies, and procedures.
  • Resource Management: Develop and manage resource assessment, planning, budgeting, and allocation processes to support student services programs.
  • Community Engagement: Foster collaborative relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and constituents to promote student success and district goals.
  • Supervision and Evaluation: Provide supervision, evaluation, and staff development for assigned staff, and recommend hiring, retention, or dismissal of Student Services personnel.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: Possess a master's degree from an accredited institution by September 15, 2024.
  • Leadership Experience: Have two years of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's administrative assignment.
  • Equity-Minded Focus: Demonstrate an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
