Job Summary:

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and guiding the overall business strategy of the company. This role involves managing the hiring and scheduling of staff, tracking cash flow, and setting goals for the business unit. The General Manager leads first-line managers and ensures that goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop key performance goals and manage the performance of staff
• Oversee the performance management process for the region
• Create and implement strategies for business growth
• Hire, train, and manage staff within a department or the business unit
• Ensure the business delivers quality service to clients
• Work closely with managers to retain clients and develop new solutions to meet client needs
• Improve internal processes to increase productivity and efficiency
• Oversee large projects and interpret performance reports
• Manage the budget and monitor the financial health of the region

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration is required, a master's in business administration is desirable
• 8-10 years of experience in a management role; industry experience is preferred
• DOT knowledge/experience is required
• Must be keen on strategic thinking and planning and understand budget management and financial monitoring
• Excellent leadership skills, including goal setting, motivation, training, and mentorship
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, speaking, and active listening
• Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
• Good organization and time management
• Comfortable in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment

Travel Requirements:

• Yes
• 15% of time

Physical Demands:

This position is mostly sedentary and will require the employee to sit for extended periods of time. It will also require the employee to occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. They may engage in bending, stretching, reaching, and other motions on a working day. They will be engaged in using office equipment and computers. They may engage in lifting supplies and materials up to 20 pounds from time to time. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.

Working Conditions:

This job is located primarily in an indoor office environment with varying noise levels. There may be varying degrees of temperature. The employee may be interrupted from time to time.
