Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Representative is responsible for overseeing and assessing all maintenance operations to guarantee that safe and dependable aircraft are maintained in accordance with established technical manuals, directives, and maintenance program instructions. This role involves monitoring safety protocols, conducting surveillance and spot checks, and performing work center audits as instructed by the Quality Assurance Manager and contract stipulations. Quality Control / Quality Assurance Inspectors will operate under the direct oversight of the Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements by auditing and surveilling all maintenance activities as outlined in the Quality Assurance Manual and applicable instructions.
  • Conduct final inspections for all maintenance tasks that impact flight safety or necessitate certification by an Aircraft Inspector, excluding ejection seats and canopy systems.
  • Investigate safety incidents and assist in the preparation of necessary reports, including Engineering Investigation Requests and Quality Deficiency Reports.
  • Analyze maintenance forms and deficiency data to identify trends and specific issues.
  • Support the creation and development of work instructions, maintenance directives, and local maintenance requirement cards.
  • May serve as a subject matter expert (SME) or training instructor as needed.
  • Responsible for briefing and debriefing Functional Check Flight pilots to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Assist in the preparation of Quality Assurance Monthly Data Requirements List (CDRL's).
  • Help compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly Quality Assurance Control Status Reports for submission to the Program Management Office.
  • Utilize the NALCOMIS OOMA database information system effectively.
  • Review incoming technical publications and directives to assess their relevance to the Maintenance Department.
  • Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Adhere to and monitor all established safety regulations and protocols relevant to the contract and job responsibilities.
  • Assist in ensuring the safety, security, and preservation of government and company-owned equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Comply with Foreign Object Damage (FOD) protocols, Hazardous Waste regulations, and other relevant safety programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Foster teamwork and cooperation among colleagues.
  • Achieve Plane Captain qualification as required by the company.

Qualifications:

Knowledge & Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of CNAFINST series, ISO 9110, NAVAIR CD, and Amentum Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including engines, flight controls, airframes, and accessories.
  • Extensive familiarity with maintenance and technical manuals, directives, safety protocols, and specialized tools.
  • Ability to research, interpret, and analyze technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Discrepancy Reporting Program.
  • Proficiency in operating the NALCOMIS OOMA database information system.
  • Strong written communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Capability to brief and debrief Functional Check Flight pilots regarding requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contractual performance work requirements.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding the English language, with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Experience & Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of general experience in aircraft maintenance, including at least one (1) year as a Quality Assurance Representative.
  • Successful completion of U.S. Armed Forces aircraft mechanic and/or airframe courses or FAA airframe and power plant technical schools.
  • FAA A & P license is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to meet any government or company licensing requirements for the position.
  • Completion of NALCOMIS (Optimized) OMA Quality Assurance Administration course is required.
  • Completion of Aviation Corrosion Control Course is necessary.
  • Preferred candidates will have completed fuel cell entrance qualification and Confined Space Entry Authority Course or equivalent.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, and work in uncomfortable positions.
  • May need to lift weights up to 70 lbs.
  • Requires close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Normal hearing range is required.
  • May require the use of a respirator.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions may vary from a standard shop environment to conditions where inclement weather may expose individuals to severe temperature changes, wind, rain, etc. Employees may be required to work in high noise environments and wear protective clothing or safety equipment. Responsibilities may include interpreting Safety Data Sheets and handling hazardous materials.

  • Work may occur in aircraft maintenance hangars or outdoors.
  • May require response to various operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions.
  • Exposure to high noise levels from turbine and jet engine aircraft is possible.
  • May encounter fumes or airborne particles, electrical shock hazards, or work near moving mechanical parts.

Potential Hazards:

Exposure to high-intensity noise levels, extreme temperature variations, and materials identified on Safety Data Sheets, while working on or around aircraft and machinery.

Work Location:

Work will take place in aircraft maintenance shops, hangars, and on the flight line. Travel may be required to support various operational needs.
