Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Scheduled and Unscheduled Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, operational tests, repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting on assigned aircraft, components, and equipment.
  • Apply Advanced Technical Knowledge: Utilize advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to other employees as needed.
  • Supervise Maintenance Activities: Supervise the jacking of aircraft, enter maintenance records, and verify work performed satisfactorily.
  • Specialize in Work, Repair, and Modification: May specialize in work, repair, and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies.
Physical and Working Environment:
  • Work Environment: Typically performed in a hangar/shop/flight line environment, requiring physical movements and postures associated with these activities.
  • Lifting and Carrying: May be required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision Requirements: Special vision abilities required, including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust and focus.
  • Weather Conditions: May be exposed to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, snow, ice, and other inclement weather conditions.
  • Noise and Hazardous Materials: May be required to work in areas with high noise hazards and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum three years' experience within the last eight years in the specific aircraft maintenance occupational field, with the last two years in the military or with a government aviation maintenance contractor.
  • Corrosion Detection and Prevention: Must have experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention.
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
  • Driver's License: Valid State Driver's license.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Aircraft Maintenance Experience: Must have recent F/18A-F, EA-18G, or F-16A-D aircraft maintenance experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Formal Training: Formal/Specialized Training or Equivalent.
  • Hazardous Waste Training: Hazardous Waste Communication Training.
  • FOD and TCP Awareness: FOD and TCP Awareness Trained.
  • Security Clearance Awareness: Security Clearance Awareness Training.
  • COMNAVAIRFORINST Program Awareness: COMNAVAIRFORINST Program Awareness.
  • ISO Program Awareness: ISO Program Awareness.
  • NALCOMIS/OOMA Trained: NALCOMIS/OOMA Trained.
  • ESD Trained: ESD Trained.
  • Support Equipment Operator's License: Support Equipment Operator's License (Tow Tractor, N2 Servicing Trailer, and Mobile Start Unit at a minimum).
  • Collateral Duty Inspector: Collateral Duty Inspector (in 2 T/M/S aircraft).
