Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Mechanic - Powerplant Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our aviation maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing organizational, intermediate, and limited depot level maintenance on aircraft, components, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair aircraft main, auxiliary, secondary power systems, fuel systems, engine level, and bleed air components.
  • Perform troubleshooting, testing, and repair of power plant systems, including replacing or repairing worn or damaged components.
  • Remove and inspect engine components, repair or replace defective parts, and reassemble and install engines in aircraft.
  • Read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints, technical directives, and safety manuals.
  • May be required to perform off-site service on assigned detachments.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum three years' experience in aviation maintenance.
  • Experience in corrosion detection, treatment, and prevention.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
  • Valid State Driver's License required.
  • Recent experience with F-18A-F, EA-18G, E-2D, MH-60S aircraft.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess a high degree of expertise in aircraft systems.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications.
  • Familiarity with operational capabilities and limitations of aircraft systems.
  • Thorough working knowledge of corrosion detection, prevention, and treatment.
  • Customer-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Capable of cross-training into other specialties.
Working Environment

This classification activity is usually accomplished in a hangar/shop/flight line environment. May be required to lift objects weighing up to 70 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
