Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, including alternate weekends.

Primary Objective:

The Recreation Program Director is tasked with effectively promoting the facility while planning, coordinating, and executing suitable activities for the residents.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement engaging activities tailored to the interests and capabilities of both independent and semi-independent residents, ensuring a minimum of two interactive sessions daily.
  • Maintain a weekly log of participation.
  • Oversee the activities budget, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Organize and execute special events for residents, both within the facility and in the surrounding community.
  • Arrange transportation for residents to their desired locations.
  • Create a monthly activities calendar that includes scheduled medical appointments, shopping trips, and other outings, ensuring it is published in advance.
  • Write a weekly article with accompanying images for local publications.
  • Update the monthly Bulletin Board and Residents Notice Board.
  • Coordinate decorations for special events and seasonal displays in collaboration with housekeeping staff.
  • Safeguard confidential information in compliance with company policies and HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires minimal physical exertion, with occasional light lifting (up to 30 pounds) being non-routine.


Non-Physical Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.


Experience:

Previous experience in organizing and delivering recreational programs and activities is essential.


Special Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication abilities; effective relationship management skills; exceptional organizational capabilities; and the ability to present a positive image to the community.


Licensure and Certification:

A valid driver's license and necessary insurance as per company policy.


Tools and Equipment:

Proficiency in using a computer, telephone, fax, and copier.


Essential Knowledge:

Intermediate understanding of grammar, spelling, punctuation, medical terminology, and basic bookkeeping practices.
