This role involves validating and auditing results, managing service schedules, and addressing customer concerns across the department. The manager will provide advanced professional support to management in various operational matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop staff through hiring, training, and performance evaluations, ensuring team engagement and growth.
  • Oversee the implementation of operational schedules and services to meet departmental objectives and ensure effective administration.
  • Advise on strategic alignment of laboratory and field programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct operational reviews and assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Facilitate communication among leadership, staff, and customers to manage expectations and performance metrics.
  • Resolve complex customer and operational issues, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including resource allocation and expenditure approvals.
  • Participate in special projects to identify and prioritize service improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance service delivery.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture by promoting cooperation and effective communication among team members.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a related field, along with five years of relevant experience, including supervisory roles.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of laboratory operations and field services.
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Familiarity with budget management and financial oversight.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in the laboratory and environmental sectors.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer applications and systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to convey complex information clearly.
