Military Police Officer Job Description

**Protect and Serve**

As a Military Police Officer in the U.S. Army, you will play a critical role in maintaining law and order on Army installations. Your primary responsibility will be to protect the lives and property of our soldiers, civilians, and their families. You will enforce military laws and regulations, control traffic, prevent crime, and respond to emergencies. Your duties will also include conducting force protection, anti-terrorism, area security, and police intelligence operations. Additionally, you will train in corrections and detention, investigations, and mobility, as well as security operations around the world.

**Requirements**

To be eligible for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

* Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien
* Be between 17 and 34 years old
* Be in good physical condition
* Have no felony-level offenses
* Meet height/weight standards
* Have no major medical procedures that would prohibit you from service
* Have no tattoos on the hands, neck, or face

**Training and Education**

As a Military Police Officer, you will undergo 10 weeks of Basic Training and 20 weeks of One Station Unit Training and on-the-job instruction in police methods. You will also have the opportunity to earn 46 nationally recognized certifications.
