Head of Nursing Services

Compensation, Benefits, and Advantages of the Nursing Director Role:
- Sign-on bonus of $10,000 for eligible candidates
- Competitive salary based on experience
- Accrue paid time off (PTO) immediately while working (full-time only)
- 6 Observed Holidays + 1 Floating Holiday
- Up to $5,000 per year in tuition/education reimbursement for approved programs

Key Responsibilities of the Nursing Director:
- Deliver personal care to residents ensuring their safety and comfort in accordance with company policies and state/federal regulations.
- Lead the development and execution of policies and procedures governing nursing staff in collaboration with relevant services.
- Oversee nursing services 24/7 to ensure high-quality care.
- Establish and maintain job specifications and descriptions for nursing personnel.
- Support cultural practices that do not harm others or interfere with medical treatment.
- Recommend adjustments to nursing staffing plans to ensure optimal care coverage.
- Ensure thorough documentation of resident incidents in line with company policies and regulations.
- Represent nursing staff on various committees focused on infection control, pain management, performance improvement, and quality assurance.
- Conduct daily rounds to all nursing units.
- Engage in performance improvement activities by collecting and verifying necessary data.
- Collaborate with other departments to address residents' needs through an interdisciplinary approach.
- Ensure licensed nurses conduct comprehensive assessments and reassessments of all residents.
- Demonstrate expertise in geriatric care and evaluate nursing staff's assessment skills.
- Interpret test results and take appropriate actions.
- Assess residents upon admission and regularly throughout their stay, documenting changes as necessary.
- Evaluate and manage residents' pain effectively, educating them and their families on pain management strategies.
- Promote a safe and clean environment for residents, families, and staff.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and report any malfunctions.
- Act as a team leader and role model for nursing staff.
- Adhere to company policies regarding abuse prevention.
- Notify physicians of any changes in residents' conditions and ensure appropriate follow-up.
- Implement care plans based on assessments and interdisciplinary team goals.
- Attend all mandatory meetings.
- Collaborate with the Administrator to plan budgeting requirements for staffing and resources.
- Manage costs effectively to maximize the use of approved budgets.
- Follow infection prevention protocols and supervise staff in these practices.
- React swiftly and decisively in emergency situations.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the Nursing Director Position:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current RN Licensure is mandatory
- Experience in nursing management is essential
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Effective communication skills with residents, families, and all organizational levels
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of clinical staff training techniques
