Position Summary
As the Head of Business Analytics within GardaWorld's Customer Service Support division, you will lead a dedicated team focused on generating critical insights and facilitating informed business decisions. This role encompasses project leadership, interdepartmental collaboration, resource management, and strategic advisory to align with the overarching objectives of stakeholders. Your contribution will be pivotal in advancing our commitment to data-driven decision-making throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Spearheading initiatives to generate reports and conduct quantitative or qualitative analyses that tackle significant business challenges.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Partnering with various departments to identify and cultivate potential business intelligence projects.
- Resource Management: Ensuring that business intelligence analysts are equipped with the necessary tools, training, and knowledge to develop impactful dashboards, reports, and metrics.
- Staffing Oversight: Making informed decisions regarding resource allocation and staffing needs.
- Strategic Contributions: Offering insights into strategic decisions that influence the functional area of responsibility.
- Performance Metrics: Establishing and leading a metrics and performance review framework to address all business data requirements in alignment with the company's financial objectives.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Defining business requirements for KPIs to evaluate progress against organizational goals.
- Ad Hoc Reporting: Developing ad hoc reporting and analytical solutions in collaboration with other functional areas (e.g., Sales, Finance, Legal, Operations, HR).
- Innovative Analyses: Identifying opportunities for improvement in utilizing company data and ROI to enhance overall profitability.
- Data Governance: Leading the governance of digital data assets, including the formulation of governance plans and structures.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Providing strategic direction on significant cross-functional initiatives related to data reporting implementations.
- Security Controls: Ensuring adherence to internal IT policies to safeguard data and maintain appropriate security access levels.
- Data Framework Development: Collaborating with IT and Business Application Teams to design and implement data collection frameworks and access. Creating data pipelines and ETL processes to transform raw data into actionable insights for business stakeholders.
- Automation: Developing tools to streamline data collection processes.
- Predictive Modeling: Creating predictive models, algorithms, and forecasting techniques to enhance business operations, boost performance, and drive revenue growth.
- Industry Awareness: Keeping abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science, business intelligence, and analytics, while sharing insights with executive leadership to promote a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Data Analysis: Expertise in data science tasks, including data visualization, large dataset analysis, predictive analytics, machine learning, and natural language processing.
- Business Insight: A solid understanding of business processes, objectives, and strategies to align BI initiatives with organizational goals.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and guide a team of analysts, data engineers, and other BI professionals.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), SQL, and data visualization techniques, along with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms.
- Effective Communication: Strong ability to articulate complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: A passion for leveraging data-driven decision-making to drive business value.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, with experience in data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
- Mathematical Acumen: A solid grasp of statistics, linear algebra, calculus, and probability theory to effectively develop and interpret machine learning models.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in business intelligence.
- Experience in the security contracting or service-related industry is preferred.
- At least 3 years of managerial experience.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Certifications in data science, machine learning, or business intelligence (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate).
- Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing Microsoft Fabric solutions in a business context.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Fabric components and architecture.
