Job Summary

The U S National Whitewater Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Land Sport Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Outdoor Activities Department, you will be responsible for leading and supporting our land-based sports operations, including low/high challenge courses and climbing walls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of front-line staff responsible for assisting and guiding guests through our land-based activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of operational systems and procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors and managers to ensure seamless execution of tasks and utilization of resources.
  • Ensure that our team maintains high safety standards and provides an exceptional guest experience.
  • Participate in basic maintenance and inspections of all activity equipment and structures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest skills and abilities in all land areas and provide field support as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of operational systems for low/high challenge courses and climbing walls.
  • Proven leadership and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise a team and make sound decisions.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and focused on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during other Whitewater events as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Commercial Recreation, Outdoor Education, or a related field.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work outdoors for sustained periods in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 75 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stand, lean, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods.
  • Ability to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space.
  • Ability to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers.
