Job Overview

The Water Quality Supervisor at the U S National Whitewater Center plays a critical role in ensuring the water quality for the whitewater channels and the Deep Water Solo pool. This position involves leading the team responsible for managing and maintaining the water quality systems, including filtration and chemical injection systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Water Quality team in daily operations and ensure adherence to safety standards and permit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily observations, testing, and channel/system inspections.
  • Ensure safe handling of chemicals and maintain a general knowledge of Paddlesports operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Paddlesports Operations Manager.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of filtration systems and/or chemical injection systems.
  • Ability to think critically and make decisions independently.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during Whitewater events as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space.
  • Ability to bend, lean, stand, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors for sustained periods of time and in all weather and environmental conditions.
