Job Title: Water Quality Supervisor

At the U.S. National Whitewater Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Water Quality Supervisor to join our team. This is a full-time, on-site position that reports to the Paddlesports Operations Manager.

Job Summary

The Water Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading the team responsible for managing and maintaining the water quality for the whitewater channels and the Deep Water Solo pool. This includes monitoring and maintaining complex systems of filtration and chemical injection. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Water Quality team.
  • Ensure that the team adheres to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and legible written records, including daily observations, testing, and channel/system inspections.
  • Safely handle a variety of required chemicals.
  • Maintain general knowledge of Paddlesports operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of filtration systems and/or chemical injection systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and physical stamina.
  • Ability to think critically and make decisions independently.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during Whitewater events as needed.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to safely self-transport over uneven terrain or in a confined space.
  • Ability to bend, lean, stand, and kneel on a regular basis and for sustained periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors for sustained periods of time and in all weather and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to work in shared spaces with other employees and customers.
