Position Overview

As a pivotal member of the sales team at Celestica, the Sales Engineer serves as the primary technical resource for account management, engaging in both pre-sales and post-sales activities to support our diverse clientele. This role is essential in leading and managing the technology evaluation phase of the sales process, collaborating closely with sales and business teams to comprehend customer challenges and devise effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sales team to enhance the sales process and achieve quota targets.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with key customer accounts, acting as the primary interface for product solutions.
  • Drive technical solution development by identifying customer requirements and aligning them with Celestica's offerings.
  • Lead the technical aspects of RFI/RFQ responses for strategic opportunities, crafting proposals that highlight Celestica's unique value propositions.
  • Assist account management and sales teams by providing tailored technical solutions that address specific customer needs, ensuring all technical barriers are removed for successful deal closures.
  • Gather insights into customers' product and technology strategies, contributing to the development of Celestica's Hardware Platforms Solutions roadmap.
  • Clarify customer product requirements and provide input into the development Statement of Work (SOW).
  • Support technical discussions with customers regarding product inquiries and issues post-sale, acting as a liaison to internal development teams.
  • Stay informed about the technical directions of key strategic partners.
  • Engage in industry standards committees and groups as appropriate.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers and at industry events.
  • Advise customers on industry trends, emerging technologies, and market opportunities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in enterprise storage and compute sales, thriving in a dynamic technical environment with a growing customer base.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for professional interactions.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with a creative approach to overcoming sales challenges.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently within a collaborative team setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with various teams and customers.
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in storage and compute systems sales, alongside 5 years of relevant technical experience in IT infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with storage systems, applications, and enterprise database technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Windows, SAN, and networking technologies.
  • Experience with flash-based storage technologies is essential.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML applications in enterprise and edge deployments is advantageous.

Work Environment

  • This position is primarily office-based, with duties requiring extended periods of sitting and visual concentration.
  • Frequent overnight travel may be necessary.

Typical Experience

  • 11+ years in technology-related engineering, marketing, and business development.

Education Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
