Job Title: Transition Finance Specialist

The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) is Singapore's central bank and integrated financial regulator. As a key player in the financial sector, MAS promotes sustainable economic growth and fosters a sound financial services sector.

About the Role

You will be part of a dynamic team driving the net zero transition of the financial system in Singapore, and the development of Singapore as a transition finance hub. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing expertise in global transition planning best practices and guidance for financial institutions, and monitoring the uptake of these in Singapore;
  • Developing enablers to contextualise transition plans to Asia and to Singapore, such as by engaging global pathway modellers to develop sectoral transition pathways for the region in key sectors (e.g. energy);
  • Developing an eco-systems approach bringing together the financial sector and real economy to drive decarbonisation in key sectors such as real estate, aviation and power generation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement transition plans for financial institutions in Singapore;
  • Collaborate with global pathway modellers to develop sectoral transition pathways for the region;
  • Develop an eco-systems approach to drive decarbonisation in key sectors;
  • Monitor and report on the uptake of transition planning best practices in Singapore;
  • Engage with stakeholders to promote the development of Singapore as a transition finance hub.
Requirements
  • No prior work experience is necessary, but some knowledge or experience in ESG, sustainability or environment/climate change issues is advantageous;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong team player;
  • Careful and meticulous worker;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and needs of stakeholders, as well as the agility to respond to changes and developments.
