Position Overview
The Senior Underwriter for Private Company Management Liability will operate within established guidelines to assess, review, and manage new and renewal accounts within our Private Company Management Liability Practice. This role requires independent judgment in underwriting activities, typically managing a portfolio with a gross written premium exceeding $5 million.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a Senior Underwriter with specialized knowledge in Private Company Management Liability, including D&O, EPL, Fiduciary Liability, and Crime. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record with a leading Commercial Insurance carrier and will focus on developing a sophisticated Private Company Management Liability portfolio targeting private clients with revenues under $3 billion. Strong connections within Management Liability retail broker channels are essential. Experience in portfolio management, including submission solicitation, underwriting analysis, and marketing, is required.
Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work model, allowing for flexibility with two days of remote work and three days in our dynamic office. Regular travel to meet with brokers and clients is necessary, along with attendance at industry events, providing opportunities to network and stay informed about industry trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Retain existing business while strategically pursuing new opportunities in Private Company Management Liability.
- Manage a book of business related to new lines, renewals, and cross-marketing of AXIS product lines.
- Meet divisional servicing objectives concerning quote turnaround, policy issuance, and documentation.
- Analyze and underwrite individual risks, developing appropriate limit structures and pricing.
- Engage in prospecting by identifying new business targets and collaborating with retail brokers.
- Conduct broker marketing calls and solicit new accounts while maintaining relationships with select agencies.
- Stay updated on economic and legal factors affecting the insurance industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of five years of experience in underwriting Management Liability.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of management liability products and market trends.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong broker relationships.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
Compensation and Benefits
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $130K to $160K, based on experience and work location. Additionally, employees are eligible for competitive incentive targets based on overall performance.
