Position Overview:

Astria Therapeutics is committed to delivering transformative therapies to individuals and families impacted by allergic and immunological conditions. Our pipeline features STAR-0215, a monoclonal antibody targeting plasma kallikrein currently in clinical trials for hereditary angioedema, and STAR-0310, an OX40 monoclonal antibody antagonist in pre-clinical stages for atopic dermatitis and other related diseases.

We are in search of a seasoned leader in corporate strategy to drive the future direction and growth of our organization. This role encompasses leading the annual strategic planning process in collaboration with the executive team, as well as identifying and analyzing market trends, strategic opportunities, and industry dynamics to communicate actionable insights. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader ready to develop, guide, and implement corporate strategies within a patient-focused and collaborative framework.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Formulation, Analysis, and Communication

  • Oversee the annual strategic planning process in partnership with the executive team, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and comprehensive input from across the organization.
  • Perform thorough analyses of biotechnology trends, market conditions, advancements in allergy and immunology, and the regulatory landscape to pinpoint growth opportunities and competitive advantages. Prepare informative materials and disseminate findings effectively.
  • Work closely with the executive team and cross-departmental leaders to craft, direct, and implement the corporate strategy.
  • Investigate, assess, and propose strategies and tactics that align with Astria's corporate objectives.
  • Create and present corporate strategy materials for executive management, Board meetings, and internal communications, simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements and scientific innovations to refine strategies as necessary.

Strategic Planning, Execution, and Implementation

  • Effectively translate strategic vision into actionable projects with designated resources and timelines, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
  • Lead and manage strategic initiatives and cross-functional projects within the organization. Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure progress and meet objectives. Monitor project status, identify potential risks, and implement necessary mitigation strategies.
  • Promote a culture centered on patient care, collaboration, innovation, and scientific excellence, advocating for initiatives that enhance the company's success in allergy and immunology.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM field or finance; PhD or MBA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, with experience in biopharma management consulting and startup environments highly valued.
  • Over 10 years of experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Adept at conveying complex ideas in straightforward frameworks and crafting compelling presentations.
  • Inquisitive, highly organized, proactive, strategic thinker with superior analytical capabilities.
  • Results-oriented with a strong focus on action.
  • Excellent project management expertise.
  • Proven history of developing and executing strategic initiatives and managing complex projects.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High-performing, results-driven individual with a collaborative approach, capable of influencing and building consensus across all organizational levels.
