Job Summary

Uvalde Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to provide first-level problem-solving for end users. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining computer hardware and software, including basic networking for the facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist end users with various PC and software issues.
  • Install, test, monitor, and maintain PCs, printers, network terminals, and other equipment and communication software.
  • Install data communications equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Assist users throughout the facility, troubleshoot problems, and resolve critical issues with the MIS team.
  • Perform routine repairs as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with end users in IT (computer hardware/software) troubleshooting, repair, and/or diagnostics required.
  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Superior ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service.
  • High degree of organization and ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Advanced computer knowledge, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Functional Demands
  • Sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, and reaching.
  • Good finger dexterity, repetitive motions with hands and fingers.
  • Good vision and hearing.
  • Pushing and pulling equipment may be necessary.
Lifting Requirements
  • Heavy lifting on an occasional basis.
