POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Radiologic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for executing a variety of radiographic imaging procedures, including Dexa scans. Your role will involve patient preparation, conducting imaging procedures, and ensuring the proper processing of exams for radiological evaluation. You will report directly to the Radiology Director and work in a non-exempt capacity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and instruct patients for radiographic examinations.

- Select and utilize the appropriate imaging equipment for each procedure.

- Determine optimal anatomical positioning and apply shielding to protect patients.

- Collaborate with physicians to assess and manage patient discomfort during procedures.

- Program stationary imaging equipment and capture high-quality images for various examinations.

- Conduct quality control checks on imaging equipment and maintain accurate logs.

- Obtain and maintain permanent records of internal examinations through imaging.

- Transfer and retrieve images from the PACS system as required.

- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the procedure room, making minor adjustments to equipment as necessary.

- Compile and maintain quality assurance documentation for regulatory compliance.

- Adhere to proper operational protocols for all equipment, following manufacturer guidelines.

- Deliver the highest quality imaging services under the supervision of the Radiology Medical Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements

- Must possess a Limited Medical Radiologic Technician (LMRT) license issued by the Texas Medical Board.

- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers is required.

- Completion of an accredited Radiology Technology Program is mandatory.

Essential Skills

- Exceptional communication skills in English, both verbal and written; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.

- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Job Functions:

- The role requires various physical activities, including sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, and reaching. Good finger dexterity and the ability to perform repetitive motions are essential.

- Visual and auditory acuity is necessary for effective performance.

- Ability to push and pull equipment as needed.

Lifting Requirements

- The position may involve occasional heavy lifting.
