PROVIDE ASSISTANCE
- Engage with individuals to provide support in various personal care tasks, including health and hygiene, household maintenance, nutritious eating, health-related appointments, and guidance on medication, financial systems, and shopping.

DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT SERVICE PLANS

- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as requested.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of instructional and behavioral plans.
- Conduct interviews and assessments to prepare for service plan development.
- Schedule, coordinate, and participate in team planning meetings as necessary.
- Maintain accurate progress records and submit reports as per established procedures.
RECORD KEEPING AND REPORTING
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintain the integrity of all attendance and work records.
- Submit precise reports/session notes as required by the supervisor.

TRANSPORTATION OF INDIVIDUALS
- Transport individuals as necessary, which may involve using a personal vehicle or operating company vehicles while adhering to cleanliness and inspection requirements.
- Assist individuals with public and/or para transportation services as needed.
BUILD AND MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS
- Assist individuals in establishing and nurturing social connections with chosen persons and their support circle, focusing on reducing reliance on paid supports.
- Support and engage individuals in community events and activities.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with individuals served, their families, peers, supervisors, and community members.
- Actively participate in weekly staff planning meetings, training sessions, and other relevant gatherings.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support as a Direct Support Professional across various Supportive Steps programs, including in-home care, transportation, and community services.
- Execute position-specific duties and other responsibilities as assigned by Supportive Steps.
- Part-time to full-time positions available.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in Special Education, Rehabilitation, Psychology, or related fields preferred.
- SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to provide job training and supervision; strong interpersonal skills to assist individuals in leveraging natural support in the workplace.
- EXPERIENCE: Previous experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is desirable; good customer service skills and a passion for helping others achieve their goals are essential.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to frequently bend, turn, and lift without injury.
- Capability to operate a vehicle during part of the shift.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to assist individuals in wheelchairs.
- Provide personal care, including restroom assistance and feeding.
- Lift at least 40 pounds.
- Clearance of pre-employment Functional Capacity Evaluation without restrictions that cannot be reasonably accommodated.
- MAY REQUIRE ONE OR ALL:
- Second language proficiency is a plus.
- Valid California driver's license.
- Insured, reliable vehicle.
- Proof of current auto insurance.
- On-Duty Meal Period Waiver.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Criminal Record Clearance.
- RBT Certification.
- DSP1 and DSP2 certifications.
