Job Overview

YAI is seeking a skilled Behavioral Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for assessing the habilitative, behavioral, and psychiatric needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing effective interventions to support these individuals in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of individuals with I/DD, utilizing person-centered tools and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Develop and implement individualized habilitative and behavior support plans, incorporating evidence-based approaches and strategies.
  • Provide training and guidance to direct care staff on clinical interventions, data collection, and documentation techniques.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to develop and implement crisis intervention plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals with I/DD.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and case reviews, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support individualized care.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a clinical or treatment field, such as psychology, social work, or applied psychology.
  • Documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in electronic health records and data management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of I/DD, including autism spectrum disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders, and traumatic brain injury.
  • Understanding of co-occurring psychiatric diagnoses, such as mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and OCD.
  • Experience with evidence-based approaches, including ABA, CBT, and DBT.
Compensation and Benefits

YAI offers a competitive salary range of $55,000 to $60,000 annually, based on education and experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
