RN - CMC Emergency Services - Per Diem - 12 Hour - Variable Shift

As a Registered Nurse (RN) at John Muir Health, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in our Emergency Services department. This per diem position offers flexibility and variety, with 12-hour shifts and a variable schedule. Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care, utilizing evidence-based practices and relevant patient care models to create a compassionate healing environment.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and provide care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology.
Demonstrate competency in managing the entire spectrum of care for patients receiving conscious sedation, including nerve blocks and cardioversion.
Triages patients and manages precipitous deliveries, providing care for the mother and newborn post-delivery.
Stabilizes critically ill patients prior to disposition, including acute stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and respiratory distress.
Requirements:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing required.
6 months of nursing experience in acute care preferred.
2000 hours of nursing experience in Emergency must be obtained within the last 3 years, core requirement.
Current RN license in California required.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ENPC certifications required prior to completion of orientation.
NIHSS certification and competency required by the end of orientation.
Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test required at time of hire (for hires after 11/15/2018).
Skills:
Demonstrates competency in managing the entire spectrum of care for patients receiving conscious sedation, including nerve blocks and cardioversion.
Demonstrates competency in triaging patients and managing precipitous deliveries, providing care for the mother and newborn post-delivery.
Demonstrates competency in stabilizing critically ill patients prior to disposition, including acute stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and respiratory distress.
Functions competently in the flow and resource roles.
Must be able to assume the role of a relief charge nurse.
Work Environment:
Variable mid shift, 11-23, 12-00, 13-01, 15-03.
12.0 - Per Diem Days No Waive (United States of America).
Pay range: $104.97 hourly.
Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Note:
Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word 'exempt' on it.
