Emergency Services RN

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Services department at John Muir Health, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals of all ages. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Your expertise will be utilized to manage a variety of patient conditions, including but not limited to, acute stroke, acute STEMI, sepsis, and respiratory distress. You will also be responsible for stabilizing critically ill patients prior to disposition and managing precipitous deliveries and care for the mother and newborn post-delivery.
Responsibilities:
• Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to meet those needs.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including ordering and administering medications, performing diagnostic tests, and providing education to patients and families.
• Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex patient situations, including those requiring emergency interventions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including progress notes, medication administration records, and other relevant information.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of solutions.
Requirements:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current California RN license.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification (non-core requirement).
• PALS certification (required prior to completion of orientation).
• ENPC certification (required prior to completion of orientation).
• NIHSS certification (required prior to completion of orientation).
• Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test (required if hired after 11/15/2018).
• 6 months of acute care experience (preferred).
• 2000 hours of emergency experience (must be obtained within the last 3 years).
