We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Route Service Manager to join our team at Interstate Battery System of America, Inc. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for delivering batteries and providing exceptional customer service to our valued customers and dealers within your assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver batteries and provide service to each dealer on your route in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers and dealers to drive sales growth and retention.
  • Effectively manage consignment programs to help dealers increase sales and drive retention.
  • Complete documentation and administrative tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain the route by keeping displays clean and up-to-date, and rotating batteries to ensure quality product and service standards.
  • Invoice all units that fail to meet warranty standards.
  • Collect and handle payments on account, including cash, checks, and money orders.
  • Collect and return junk and/or used batteries.
  • Load and unload truck.

Requirements

  • Must possess current DOT Medical Certification and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Depending on equipment operated, a Class A or B Commercial Drivers License may be required.
  • Prior driving and customer service experience highly desirable.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and compute basic math.

Work Environment

  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move 50+ lbs. without assistance.
  • Exposed to battery warehouse conditions, including exposure to moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
