Key Responsibilities:

As a Civil Engineer at TJW Engineering, you will work alongside a dedicated team of professionals to develop a variety of traffic engineering plans and designs. Under the mentorship of experienced Civil Engineers, Traffic Engineers, and Professional Transportation Planners, your tasks will include:

  • Designing Traffic Signals
  • Implementing Intelligent Transportation Systems
  • Creating Complete Streets and Bikeways
  • Developing Signing and Striping Plans
  • Conducting Alignment Studies
  • Designing Roadway and Street Lighting
  • Formulating Traffic Control Plans
  • Designing for Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety
  • Planning Safe Routes to School
  • Implementing Traffic Calming Measures
  • Creating Concept Plans
  • Conducting Roundabout Designs
  • Analyzing Traffic Signal Operations
  • Performing Vehicle Path Analysis

As a vital member of the TJW Engineering team, you will embark on a developmental journey characterized by increasing responsibilities that enhance your skills and expertise. Initially, you will collaborate closely with project managers and senior engineers, actively contributing to the design process across various traffic engineering concepts and designs. Your responsibilities will include proficient use of AutoCAD, conducting site visits, and ensuring compliance with industry standards to deliver comprehensive and practical projects.

As you gain experience, you will gradually take on more independent design responsibilities, which will involve making complex design decisions, representing TJW Engineering in client meetings, engaging with agency personnel, and mentoring junior team members. Ultimately, you will progress to independently overseeing small projects and preparing for mid-level responsibilities within the organization.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineering-in-Training certification or eligibility to obtain within a year.
  • 0-3 years of experience in civil or traffic engineering.
  • Strong understanding of civil and traffic engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a civil or traffic engineering environment.
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD.

Compensation: $58,500 - $76,000

The compensation range and benefits provided are based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
