Position Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled Associate Engineer to enhance our Southern California operations. This role is pivotal in overseeing the quality assurance of various infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage multiple phases of significant civil infrastructure projects, including but not limited to roads, railways, and bridges.
- Provide quality assurance throughout all project stages, from initial layouts to final engineering designs.
- Conduct thorough reviews and audits of project inspection reports to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Enhance and recommend improvements to CAD software used in project designs.
- Develop and train inspection teams as part of the expansion of our Construction Observation and Material Engineering and Testing (COMET) services.
- Perform cost estimations and prepare project budgets while managing resources effectively.
- Supervise junior engineers and construction teams, ensuring project timelines are met.
- Engage in strategic planning to shape the future of the engineering practice.
- Document processes and provide regular updates on project progress to management.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Registered civil engineer or the ability to obtain registration within a specified timeframe.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity on large-scale projects.
- Proficient in civil engineering project management software, including Civil 3D and CAD.
- Comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering standards and construction specifications.
- Experience with COMET and related testing procedures.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to conduct site visits outside of regular business hours when necessary.
