Key Responsibilities:

As a civil engineer at TJW Engineering, you will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals to develop various traffic engineering plans and designs. Our collaborative atmosphere fosters professional development and allows individuals to significantly influence the transportation landscape. Under the mentorship of experienced Civil Engineers, Traffic Engineers, and Professional Transportation Planners, you will engage in a variety of tasks and projects, including but not limited to:

  • Designing Traffic Signals
  • Implementing Intelligent Transportation Systems
  • Creating Complete Streets and Bikeways
  • Developing Signing and Striping Plans
  • Conducting Alignment Studies
  • Designing Roadway and Street Lighting
  • Formulating Traffic Control Plans
  • Designing for Pedestrian and Bicycle Access
  • Establishing Safe Routes to School
  • Implementing Traffic Calming Measures
  • Creating Concept Plans
  • Designing Roundabouts
  • Managing Traffic Signal Operations
  • Conducting Vehicle Path Analysis

As a valued member of the TJW Engineering team, you will embark on a dynamic developmental journey characterized by increasing responsibilities that align with your skill enhancement. Initially, you will collaborate closely with project managers and senior engineers, actively contributing to the design process across various traffic engineering concepts. Your responsibilities will include proficient use of AutoCAD, conducting site assessments, and adhering to industry standards to ensure comprehensive and executable projects.

As your experience grows, you will gradually take on more independent design responsibilities, which will involve making complex design decisions, representing TJW Engineering in client interactions, engaging with agency personnel, and mentoring junior team members. Ultimately, you will progress to independently overseeing small projects and prepare for mid-level responsibilities within the organization.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • Engineering-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within a year.
  • 0-3 years of experience in civil or traffic engineering.
  • Strong foundation in civil engineering and/or traffic engineering principles.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team setting.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a civil or traffic engineering environment.
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD.

Compensation: $58,500 - $76,000

The salary range and benefits provided are offered in good faith, considering an applicant's education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
