Role Summary: We are looking for a skilled Associate Engineer, Assistant Department Manager to enhance our Southern California operations. This role is crucial for overseeing infrastructure initiatives and ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage various phases of significant civil infrastructure projects, including but not limited to roads, railways, airports, and buildings.
- Ensure quality assurance throughout all project stages, from initial layouts to final engineering designs.
- Conduct reviews and audits of project inspection reports to verify adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
- Propose enhancements to computer-aided design (CAD) tools to improve project outcomes.
- Lead the development of source inspection services as part of the expansion of the Construction Observation and Material Engineering and Testing (COMET) initiative.
- Prepare cost estimates, manage project budgets, and allocate resources effectively.
- Supervise junior engineers and construction teams, ensuring efficient project execution.
- Contribute to strategic planning efforts to shape the future of the COMET practice.
- Document workflows and provide updates on project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Registered civil engineer or eligibility to obtain registration within six months of employment.
- A minimum of five years of experience in civil engineering, with at least two years in a senior capacity on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proficient in civil engineering project management software, including Civil 3D and CAD.
- Comprehensive understanding of civil engineering specifications, standards, and codes.
- Experience with COMET procedures and source inspection methodologies.
- Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent mathematical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Outstanding communication and collaboration capabilities.
- Willingness to conduct site visits outside of regular business hours as required.
