Key Responsibilities:

This role is open to candidates within the USA, providing support to both external and internal clients across various time zones. Remote work options are available for qualified individuals.

This position reports to the Coordinator of Field Service Resources.

As a part of our dynamic Field Service Operations coordination team (AMER), candidates are expected to demonstrate exceptional critical thinking and reasoning abilities, showcasing high performance and self-motivation.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Conducting overhauls and repairs on 2-stroke marine diesel engines.
  • Performing advanced mechanical troubleshooting and system integration for 2-stroke engines and related equipment.
  • Engaging professionally with clients throughout the service process.
  • Leading and managing onsite teams during project execution.
  • Reporting on the progress of assigned tasks to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with Wartsila's quality, environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Assisting in the preparation of Service Work Reports.
  • Continuously seeking best practice solutions.
Qualifications:
  • A strong commitment to safety.
  • Enthusiasm for advancing knowledge in 4-stroke engine technology.
  • Relevant technical education or equivalent experience.
  • Proven technical expertise in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul.
  • Experience with turbochargers, pumps, heat exchangers, fuel systems, and cooling systems.
  • Professional interaction with clients during service execution.
  • Familiarity with slow-speed 2-stroke engines.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous.

Work Environment:

The work environment includes:

  • Interaction with mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous materials.
Travel Requirements:

This position necessitates a commitment to travel exceeding 70%, both domestically and internationally, including onshore and offshore assignments. Candidates should be adaptable to varying travel demands and prepared for extended periods away from their primary work location.
